Precision is 3% hit. Flurry wants crits. Strength feeds Bloodthirst’s 35% Attack Power. Icy Veins tells you to compare weapon DPS and to train the weapon skill before you swap types.
Best race
Icy Veins’ Fury page picks Night Elf: Elune’s Light is 10% crit for 15 seconds, which is Flurry and Bloodthirst crits, and Shadowmeld drops threat when you yank a pack. Quickness is 1% dodge and 2% movement speed on the client, not just the speed the guide mentions.
ShadowmeldInstant, 10 sec cooldown. Activate to slip into the shadows, reducing the chance for enemies to detect your presence. Lasts until cancelled or upon moving. Using this ability in combat discourages enemies from attacking you, but increases the cooldown to 2 min.
QuicknessDodge chance increased by 1% and movement speed increased by 2%. Night Elf Rogues and Druids are harder to detect in Stealth as if they were 1 level higher.
Wisp SpiritTransform into a wisp upon death, increasing movement speed by 75%.
Elune's LightInstant, 3 min cooldown. Increases your critical strike chance with all spells and attacks by 10% for 15 sec.
Blood Fury is the Attack Power cooldown Icy Veins names for Horde Fury. Use it inside Death Wish, not before the pull.
Blood FuryInstant, 2 min cooldown. Increases Attack Power and Spell Power by 10% for 15 sec.
HardinessDuration of Stun effects on you reduced by 20%.
Axe SpecializationIncreases your critical strike chance with all spells and abilities by 1% while you have an axe or a two-handed axe equipped.
Shatter CurseInstant, 3 min cooldown. Instantly removes and grants immunity to all Curses and Banes, and reduces all Magical damage taken by 15% for 8 sec.

How to play it
- Bloodthirst on cooldown. Whirlwind and Cleave when Rage allows. Heroic Strike only when you are about to cap Rage — Icy Veins says it replaces the white hit and stops that swing from generating Rage.
- Death Wish on the boss once the tank has threat. You take 5% more damage. Do not pop it on the pull.
- Battle Shout stays up. Blizzard cut its Attack Power because both factions now have Shaman and Paladin buffs, and baked Improved Battle Shout into the baseline.
- Keep a shield in the bag for Shield Bash. Icy Veins tells Fury warriors they will tank leveling dungeons. That does not make this a tank build.
- If Rage bugs are still eating your bar, that is the beta Blizzard described on Sep 30. Do not respec to fix a bug.
Verdict
Fury is the dual-wield damage spec. Bloodthirst hits for 35% of Attack Power plus 30 and grants 10% movement speed for 10 seconds. Blizzard removed the heal. Death Wish is 20% physical damage and fear immunity for 30 seconds, and you take 5% more damage while it is up. Flurry is 25% attack speed for three swings after a crit. Enrage is 10% physical damage for 12 seconds after you take any hit, at a 30% chance.
Blizzard’s Sep-30 deep dive says Iron Will moved to Arms. The vendored client, build 1.60.1.70009, still has Iron Will in Fury. This file follows the client. If a later build moves it, the PvP split changes. The same note says Rage from damage dealt is fully normalized by weapon speed, crits give 75% more Rage, and Rage bugs are still open in the beta.
wowforever.co puts Fury at A on MMOExp and Overgear and at C on the forum list, above Arms on both seller lists. Icy Veins’ Fury page, updated Sep 27, is a level-20 guide: Cruelty, Unbridled Wrath, then Piercing Howl. It calls Warrior leveling slow and weapon-dependent. That is the start of this leveling order.
Play Fury for dungeon and raid damage if you can feed it Rage. Play Arms if you need Mortal Strike’s healing cut. Play Protection if you are the tank. The 51-point builds are projections past the beta cap.
Strengths
- Death Wish plus Bloodthirst is the burst, and Bloodthirst’s 10% movement speed is a reconnect, not a heal.
- Dual Wield Specialization is 25% off-hand damage, double off-hand Rage, and 10% off-hand hit. That is why Fury dual-wields.
- Piercing Howl is a 50% slow on every nearby enemy for 6 seconds. Icy Veins takes it as the 11th point for a reason.
- Improved Berserker Rage generates 10 Rage and clears movement impairs. That is the root-break Arms does not have in this tree.
Weaknesses
- Blizzard is still chasing Rage bugs, and Rage from damage is now normalized. A slow weapon no longer prints Rage the old way.
- Death Wish increases damage taken by 5%. Pop it into a stun and you die faster.
- Icy Veins: bad at fighting two mobs early, no in-combat escape besides Hamstring, and Victory Rush does not exist until 20.
- No healing reduction. A free-casting healer wins the long battleground fight.
